Dunaway Construction is a family owned business founded May 1983. Early years focused on residential landscaping, excavation, and ceramic tile installation. Today we are an excavating company that also installs municipal sewer and water and private subsurface soil treatment systems (septic systems). With our diverse fleet of trucks and equipment we can provide competitive service to home owners, light commercial , and government entities alike.

Kevin Dunaway, Owner

Kevin has extensive hands-on experience in the military and civilian environment involving construction, storage, and dispensing of petroleum products, equipment repair and maintenance, operational planning, fiscal planning, and site and soil surveys.

Military Experience
June 2005

Honorable discharged as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 from the US Marine Corps with 31.5 years  of creditable service.

August 2004 to January 2005
Assigned as the Facilities Officer in the Mayor’s Cell at Al Asad Air Base, Al Anbar Province, Iraq. Responsible for management and supervision of all infrastructure operations consisting of three pillars-water, power, and sewage. Worked closely with coalition forces and civilian contractors in coordinating the repair and maintenance of all base facilities. Kevin was asked for by name to fill this position and recieved the Meritorious Service Medal for achievements during this deployment. 

March 2003 to June 2003
Assigned Temporary Active Duty to Marine Central Command then forward deployed to serve as the Bulk Liquids Officer with the Special Purpose MAGTF, 2nd FSSG, Camp Fox, Kuwait. Planned and directed storage and distribution of bulk fuels during Operation Iraqi Freedom. During this time period the average fuel dispensed exceeded 350,000 gallons per day.

January 1998 to February 1998
Officer In Charge for the construction of a K-Span building at the Candelaria Elementary School, Marfa, Texas, in support of Joint Task Force 423-98A.

February 1991 to June 1991
Assigned as the Construction Branch Section Leader, MCAS, Beaufort, South Carolina. Responsible for  the completion of 27 base improvement projects during a three month period at a savings of $201,709.00.

Kyle Dunaway, Project Manager

Kyle grew up in the business and took over complete operation of the business during his father's deployments. Kyle is involved from start to finish with all jobs.
